Using India ink and tissue paper participants will create art on paper that are intriguing and completely experimentally made. Our art will be an abstract/ non-representional image.   This workshop is for those who love to play with materials and discover the product in the process. $25.00 all materials, pay at event.

PAINT NIGHT   AT TINKERTOWN

​SATURDAY OCTOBER 12TH AT 4:00 in the garden courtyard.

This session is inspired by the beautifully  quirky bottle walls created by Ross Ward;  and will be all about color and the magic that happens when playing with color.    On a 12" X 16" canvas board participants will re-create Kandinsky's "color study with squares and concentric circles". 

There is only joy to be found in mixing and blending colors as we paint our color grid. This is an open ended creative time- see where the colors take you!

The gates open at 4:00 for refreshments, session starts promptly at 4:30.  This is an outdoor space, please wear warm and comfy clothes, as the East Mountains get chilly as the sun goes down.

​​​​​​LINO-CUT PRINTMAKING

SATURDAY OCTOBER 26th

& SUNDAY 27th @ 2:00

This workshop is for beginner printmakers and for people already familiar with relief printing.  The relief process is one where lines are carved into a surface (matrix), in the lino-cut, it is just that, using a linoleum matrix.  The raised surface is inked and printed on rag paper. Saturday afternoon students will develop an image, trace that image onto the lino surface and carve out the negative areas.

On Sunday we will "pull" an edition of prints.

Options of adding a color base will be explored. This is a hands-on fun workshop with support from the  beginning to the end!

ArtSpaceEast uses non-toxic Akua ink for printing. All supplies included.  $90.00 pay at event- limited to three students, open to ages 16 +.

CREATE AND PRINT YOUR OWN HOLIDAY CARDS: Sat/Sun November 16th and 17th @ 2:00

​

Participants will learn relief printing as we carve an image into an  easy-cut rubber matrix. Printing with non-toxic inks, you will edition and hand pull 12 cards in the theme/image individualized for you.   There will be examples or you are welcome to bring an image to work from. Paper and envelopes will be of high quality paper (provided) to make your card stand out -from others! Open to 4 participants
